Located approximately 68 km southwest of Heraklion, Matala is one of the most popular destinations and one of the most beautiful beaches of our island. Mostly famous for the caves carved in the rocks next to the beach and the hippies of the 60’s. Gortyna,also known as Gortys, was a city of ancient Crete mentioned by numerous ancient writers for its importance and splendor that is by no means inferior to that of Knossos.
The tropical beach of Preveli, also known as Lake Preveli or Phoenix is located about 35 km south of Rethymno at the exit of the beautiful Kourtaliotiko Gorge. Damnoni beach is located next to Preveli and is a popular tourist resort very well developed and organized. Rethymno is the third biggest city of the island of Crete full of history and picturesque neighborhoods, located on the western part of the island.
Lasithi Plateau is located in eastern Crete, in the regional unit of Lasithi. It lies at an average altitude of 840 m and is home to 18 small villages. Vineyards, olive trees and picturesque villages form the diverse landscape of the Plateau, making it one of the most beautiful natural scenery to explore while in Crete.

Spinalonga is a now uninhabited small island, also known as the “island of the forgotten’’. It was initially built as a Venetian fortress, later used as a settlement by the Turks but it is mostly known for its most recent historical purpose as a leper colony between 1903 and 1957.
